Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig): In a widely publicized case, the court has denied the bail request of the accused Thakur brothers. The case revolves around fraudulent actions with the forest department under the guise of online bookings for Tadoba jungle safaris, involving a sum exceeding 12 crore rupees.
After the court canceled the anticipatory bail, both the accused individuals could be arrested at any time now.
The allegation is that a sum exceeding 12 crore rupees, collected from tourists for online bookings of Tadoba Jungle Safaris through their platform, was not remitted to the Forest Department. Following a complaint lodged by the Forest Department, a case has been registered against two brothers, Abhishek Vinod Kumar Thakur and Rohit Vinod Kumar Thakur, who reside in Chandrapur.
While the police registered this case, both the accused have been out of police custody since then. A bail plea for both the accused individuals was filed in the district court, which was rejected by the court on August 29, 2023. This rejection strengthens the likelihood of both accused individuals being taken into custody by the police in the near future.
