Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig) :
Deputy Director (core) of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), Mr. Yellu Reddy, Moharli, Tourist Guides, Gypsy drivers/owners, Project Manager Charul Parihar, Round Officer Soyam, and Forest Guards carried out a clean-up campaign in Moharli village, Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve. Both male and female guides actively participated in this endeavor.
To make Moharli a plastic-free community, they gathered plastic from nearby areas of Moharli Lake and from the road connecting from Moharli to Bhamdeli village. This program collected a 367 kgs waste and 59 kgs glass bottle from different places and warned the locals not to throw away their waste carelessly.
Additionally, cleanliness drives are done on a regular basis by the forest department, male and female tourist guides, gypsy drivers/owners and villagers. It was also said that single-use plastic is prohibited in Tadoba.
As part of the awareness effort, villagers were given instructions to tie their livestock in designated places and avoid open defecation.
Following an inspection for the purpose of beautifying Moharli village, it is imperative that environmentally friendly actions be taken. Signs advocating for a Moharli free of plastic are being up in various places to increase public awareness of the value of the environment.
A playground is also being constructed for young children, which will benefit them and improve their health.
