Chandrapur: Two Absconding Accused in Wildlife Poaching Case Dramatically Arrested by Forest Department

Chandrapur (Mohammad Suleman Baig): In a significant crackdown on wildlife poaching, the Forest Department team successfully apprehended two fugitives in a dramatic operation on March 19, 2025. The case, registered under Forest Crime No. 09220/230485 (dated August 13, 2023), involved the illegal hunting of a wild boar and a hare.

Key Accused and Arrest Details

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Rajendrasingh Jarnailsingh Bawari (Age 30, Resident of Mudhza, Taluka Bramhapuri, District Chandrapur)
  • Shatrughan Vasant Mahadole (Age 32, Resident of Ballarpur, Post Mudhza, Taluka Bramhapuri, District Chandrapur)

The Forest Department team strategically planned and executed the arrest, capturing Rajendrasingh Bawari in Mudhza and Shatrughan Mahadole in Bamni, District Gadchiroli.

The arrest operation was successfully led by Vinod Dhurve, Forest Range Officer, Sawli, with active participation from the following officers and staff:

Further Investigation

The case is currently under investigation under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Chandrapur, Prashant Khade, and Assistant Forest Conservator, Vikas Tarse. The inquiry is being conducted by Vinod Dhurve, Forest Range Officer, Sawli.

In a press release, the Forest Department emphasized its commitment to taking stringent action against illegal poaching and wildlife crimes. The department also urged the public to adhere to wildlife protection laws and immediately report any wildlife crime to the authorities.
