Amulya Hands of Hope Foundation and Forest Department Celebrate Bird Week in Moharli (Buffer)

In honor of the birth anniversaries of the emperors of the bird world, Salim Ali and Maruti Chitampalli, Bird Week was celebrated from November 5th to 12th with the collaboration of Amulya Hands of Hope Foundation and the Forest Department.
Bird Week is celebrated nationwide from November 5th to 12th in commemoration of the birth anniversaries of renowned ornithologists Salim Ali and Maruti Chitampalli. In line with this, the Amulya Hands of Hope Foundation, along with the Forest Department, organized Bird Week in Moharli Buffer from November 5th to 8th.
A birdwatching event was held in the lake area of the Moharli forest range from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM.


During the three-day birdwatching event, a total of 140 different bird species like were observed within the Moharli forest range.

Asian Open bill, Little Cormorant,
Great Cormorant, Indian Cormorant,
Little Egret, Cattle Egret, Intermediate Egret, Large Egret or Great Egret,  Indian Pond Heron, Purple Heron, Grey Heron, Black crowned Night Heron, Oriental Darter, Lesser Adjutant, Little Grebe, Woolly necked Stork, Black Stork, Cinnamon Bittern, Black Bittern, Yellow Bittern, Glossy Ibis, Black headed Ibis, Red naped ibis, Lesser Whistling Duck, Indian Spot billed Duck, Cotton Pygmy Goose, White breasted Water hen, Bronze winged Jacana, Pleasant tailed Jacana,Purple Swamphen,Red wattled Lapwing, Yellow wattled Lapwing,  Wood Sandpiper, Little Ringed Plover, Black winged Stilt, Common Greenshank, Spotted Redshank, Indian stone Curlew, Common Kingfisher, Stork billed Kingfisher, White throated Kingfisher, White browed Wagtail, Citrine Wagtail, Gray Wagtail, Yellow wagtail, Osprey, Eurasian Marsh Harrier, Grey headed Fish Eagle, Gadwall, Mallard etc…..

The event was graced by the presence of Bird enthusiasts Mohammad Suleman Baig, Vipul Dhawale, Shahbaaz Sheikh, Shubham Atram, Sahil Baig, Sumedh Waghmare, and the Forest Staff of the Moharli (Buffer) Forest Range.
