“Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Reopens for Tourism After 3-Month Hiatus, Welcomes Tourists with Grand Ceremony”

The world-renowned Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (Core) area has officially opened for tourism today, October 2, 2024. After a three-month hiatus, the gates of Tadoba (Core) forest have been reopened. A large crowd of wildlife enthusiasts from both India and abroad, along with local tourists, gathered at the entrance for tiger sightings. The forest department warmly welcomed all tourists with roses and distributed sweets. Additionally, Dr. Jitendra Ramgaonkar greeted Prakash Dharane and Arun Tikhe with a bouquet.

Currently, the safari timings are scheduled for two slots: the morning safari from 6 AM to 10 AM, and the afternoon safari from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM. In Tadoba, single-use plastic is banned, and plastic bottles are also prohibited in resorts.

Dr. Jitendra Ramgaonkar, Executive Director of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve Conservation Foundation, Chandrapur, along with Anand Reddy Yellu, Deputy Director (Core), Sachin Shinde, Divisional Forest Officer of Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Chandrapur, and Arun Tikhe, an Eco-Tourism member, Prakash Dharane, Moharli Forest Range Officer (Core), Gond, and field assistants Vilas Soyam, Umare, Valdi, Ghabargunde, and forest guards Sneha Mahajan, Marskole, Tekam, Suryawanshi, Gore, Watekar, and Wankhede were present at the event. The tourist guides, Gypsy drivers and Homestay owners, Resort owners including Sanjay Dhimole , Bandu Vekhande, Shrikant Arval and Gajanan Bapat along with local villagers and Moharli Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Mrs. Sunita Katkar performed a puja at the Moharli entrance gate and flagged off the tourists’ Gypsies, marking the beginning of tourism in the area.
